The Honors College offers programming year-round to assist candidates for national scholarships and fellowships with personal statement writing. These might include sessions in the Honors Essential series, writing workshops, and individual meetings with National Scholarship and Fellowship program staff.
Dr. Valerie N. Matthews is a professor of English at Georgia State University, Perimeter College. She holds a Ph.D. in English with a major in African American literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her career at Perimeter College, her scholarly and creative output has been geared towards her students and community.
